Chair of General and Indo-European Linguistics

The Chair of General and Indo-European Linguistics has a rich and multi-threaded history. Its traditions go back to the second half of the 19th century. It was led, in turn, by the following linguists: Jan Baudouin de Courtenay, Jan Rozwadowski, Jerzy Kuryłowicz, Jan Safarewicz, Adam Heinz, Kazimierz Polański, Maria Strycharska-Brzezina, Ireneusz Bobrowski, Jadwiga Waniakowa.

The Chair offers full-time second-cycle studies in general linguistics.
